Hi guys! I'm sorry that I haven't posted lately, I think I am going to end this fanfic, and create a new flash fiction based off this short story. More information will come soon. As for now, here is the 2nd to last part of Fire Song. Hope you like it! Tags: @Mira Ghosh @Charcat
Everything has been so crazy lately, I just need a break. I sign my name on the light blue stationery Mr. Forkle had provided us with. I always loved to write letters, but unfortunately, I didn't enjoy writing this one at all. I look at my flowing script.
Dear Mr. Forkle,
I have written to say that I can no longer teach Marella, due to some personal issues. I would still liked to be involved with the Black Swan, but I am afraid that I have a little too much on my plate right now to continue mentoring her. It is with my deepest sorrow that I resign from this position. I am giving you one week's notice for my departure from Spritegiving, and while I am still here I can continue my lessons with Marella up until this Friday.
Signed,
Linh Song
The letter was short and sweet, but it would have to do. I don't know what the future holds, but I know that I can't work with Marella anymore. Just then, I hear a knocking on my door. I tense up and throw the letter into a nearby drawer, before running to the door.
I open it, and there stands Marella, in her nightgown and panting.
"Are you okay?" I ask. Marella laughs.
"I'm great, actually." Without asking, she pushes the door open and flops down on my bed. "You won't believe what happened. I was having the nightmare, but then, someone came down from the sky and saved me!"
I gasp. "Wow, this is- great news! This means that you're finally gaining control over your powers!" It also meant that I had actually done something good for once. "Tell me more- this could have some sort of spiritual meaning–"
Marella cuts me off. "Uh, you and your 'spiritual meanings'." I roll my eyes. Same old Marella. I look at the faux ivory drawer, the blue letter still hanging out of it. Even if Marella had put last night in her past, I hadn't. How could I stay professional with that elephant in the room.
I didn't know how I could tell her, but I have to. This is the only option. I just hope I can enjoy these last few days. I'll try to make make them last.
Part 6 will be coming soon!
