RP stands for Roleplay, which is when you invent your own characters and write their story. However, unlike most creative writing, it has to do with a book series or just a book. Your character is somehow linked with that series (eg one of the characters from the series' child or cousin) and basically you write their story and stuff. Fanfic, however, is different. You basically use premade characters to write a story. for example, you may write about the time Keefe and Sophie were in the void when they teleported.
